Hayreddin Barbarossa, also recognized as Hızır Hayreddin Pasha, was a notorious 16th-century Ottoman admiral and privateer. He has been born under Ottoman Rule and became well-known as a pirate in the Mediterranean Sea, where he was recognized for his bold raids and naval battles with the Spanish and Portuguese navies.
